Verner Panton is best known for his unconventional use of materials such as plastic and a decidedly ‘60s style, which regained popularity as his career progressed.

Starting under acclaimed designer Arne Jacobsen, it soon became clear that he was a genius in his own right. While perhaps most famous for designing the first single-form injection-molded plastic chair, Panton designed countless daring pieces of furniture and lighting fixtures before his death in 1998.
