Pepa Portable Lamp

The Pepa Portable Lamp turns the familiar motion of a pepper grinder into a tactile way of controlling light. Designed by Francesco Faccin for Astep, the portable lamp is held and rotated by hand, with its conical reflector acting as a continuous 360° dimmer. A gentle twist moves the light from full brightness to a low glow, followed by a satisfying click as it switches off. Solid ash gives this lamp the warmth of an everyday object rather than a piece of technology, while its rechargeable battery allows it to move easily from a dining table to a bedside or outdoor gathering. Designed for repairability, its components remain accessible for maintenance, replacement, and eventual recycling.
