Our ICFF 2022 Roundup

It's been a few years since we've walked the rows of the Javits Center, croissant in hand, taking in all of the booths, walking 19,000 steps, and jaunting around SoHo on the hunt for showrooms and brands that excite us. But just last week, a select crew took to the infamous International Contemporary Furniture Fair (or ICFF for short) to scout all things new.

And now we're back and here on the journal to share our favorite installations, experiences, and pieces. We hope you get a dose of creative inspiration from NYC design week, just like we did.

Leslie, Showroom Manager

Favorite Moment:

“The morning brunch we had Monday at Menu x by Lassen. Sophie, our rep there, was amazing and super informative. They created a very beautiful and serene space that made the chaos of the NYC streets and the hectic ICFF schedule disappear. We didn't want to leave!”

Favorite Piece:

“The Tired Man Chair from by Lassen.”

Jes, Web Associate

Favorite Moment:

Ferm Living's set up at ICFF included some of my favs like the Distinct Coffee Table, Pond Mirror, and Mineral Sculptural Table.

Favorite Piece:

“The brand Eikund's "The Fluffy Lounge Chair” stood out to me because of its upholstery. It was designed by Fredrik A. Kayser in 1954, and I learned that it takes 5 long-haired sheep to make!"

Maris, Design Sales Consultant

Favorite Moment:

“My favorite piece/installation I saw was at Vitra – all the flowers in their showroom were absolutely GORGEOUS mixed in with their furniture.”

Favorite Piece:

“I really liked the shape of the Oyster Wall Lamp by Ferm Living.”

Lauren, eCommerce Manager

Favorite Moment:

“I was so excited to see Tantuvi at ICFF this year. I've been following them online for years, but I loved getting to see their beautiful textiles in person! Their flat-weave rug designs are unique but tonally cohesive (and I love a statement rug).”

Favorite Piece:

“Not a specific piece, but I was really excited to see mahogany making a comeback via Ethnicraft and Carl Hansen. Despite being associated with traditional furniture, seeing it used with modern designs as an alternative to walnut or stained oak was really cool.”

Julie, Buying Assistant

Favorite Moment:

“I liked this brand from Romania, Carel. They reminded me of Ethnicraft but with an urban twist.”

Favorite Piece:

The Penguin Chair by Menu, they just gained the rights to produce and re-brand this vintage design. It’s so fun and is the perfect fit for short people like me.”

Laura, Buying + Merchandising Manager

Favorite Moment:

“These concrete sinks by Kast – if Lekker sold bathrooms! Not our realm, but gorgeous and fun colors!”

Favorite Piece:

“The by Lassen pieces at Menu! Really excited to offer this collection – all of their upholstery was so comfortable and calling us to take a nap after our long day.”
