Bull Chair

PP Møbler's Bull Chair captures Hans J. Wegner at his most expressive. Designed in 1961, its broad back and armrests sweep outward like a pair of bullhorns, giving the chair a presence that feels powerful, organic, and unexpectedly playful. The arms and back are formed from substantial pieces of solid wood, with each armrest cut from the same piece so the grain continues naturally across the form. At the center, six contrasting rosewood tenons turn a demanding structural joint into one of the chair's defining details. Available with either a handwoven cane seat or upholstery applied directly to the seat rails, this chair is an extraordinary demonstration of what Wegner could ask of both wood and the craftspeople shaping it.
