M-Chair Dining Chair

Long before Marcel Gascoin became known for the warm wooden furniture that helped define postwar French interiors, he was experimenting with a decidedly different language. Designed in 1937, the M-Chair Dining Chair pairs a fully upholstered seat with a suspended backrest and exceptionally slender metal legs, creating a silhouette that feels almost drawn in space. Its compact proportions give the chair an elegant lightness around the table, while the generous upholstery brings softness to its precise geometry. Reconstructed by Gubi from archival references, this dining chair brings one of Gascoin’s earliest ideas into production for the first time.
