GUBI's iconic Beetle Chair is now available through a dedicated US production program. Operating alongside their international collection, this initiative delivers faster lead times, exclusive upholsteries curated for American preferences, and a more seamless specifying experience.
Available in three configurations: the fully upholstered Dining Chair on Black Matte or Antique Brass conic base, and the fully upholstered Counter and Bar Chairs on Black Matte conic base. Finished closer to the project site through GUBI's US assembly and upholstery program — the design integrity is unchanged, the only difference is how soon it arrives.
A 7-week lead time offers a distinct competitive edge for demanding project schedules. Select from six curated fabrics across 40 colors, or bring your own — COM and COL are fully supported with no minimum quantities required.

035About the Beetle Quickship Program
Which configurations are part of the quickship program?
Three configurations: the fully upholstered Beetle Dining Chair on Black Matte or Antique Brass conic base, and the fully upholstered Counter and Bar Chairs on Black Matte conic base only. All are available in six curated fabrics across 40 colors, or with COM/COL. Other bases, shell finishes, and models follow standard lead times.
How much faster is the lead time?
Select US-upholstered Beetle configurations reduce estimated delivery from approximately 15 weeks to approximately 7 weeks, with GUBI continuing to optimize the program.
Can I use COM or COL?
Yes, on the fully upholstered conic base configurations. COM and COL are supported with no minimum quantities required. Suitability testing ensures the material performs properly on the Beetle form, and they follow the same ~7 week lead times as the quickship assortment.
Does US upholstery affect quality?
No. Upholstery partners are selected and approved to GUBI's global standards. The program uses Maharam and Cortina — well-known, trusted names in the US specification market.
Does this change pricing?
No. Pricing remains stable. Freight efficiencies allow GUBI to shorten lead times without impacting price levels.
Are the six quickship upholsteries the only options?
No — these are additions, not replacements. You still have full access to GUBI's existing recommended upholstery catalog at standard lead times.
