Akustik Chair

The Akustik Chair from Gärsnäs addresses sound in a way that is almost entirely hidden from view. Åke Axelsson integrated a 1.57-inch layer of sound-absorbing felt beneath the seat, allowing the chair to help reduce ambient noise while retaining the straightforward expression of a classic wooden chair. A solid birch frame supports shaped veneer at the seat and back, with solid ash and upholstered versions available as alternatives. Designed in 2006 with shared and frequently changing spaces in mind, this chair can be stacked up to twelve chairs on a trolley and specified with a linking frame for organized rows of seating.
