Web Chair

The Web Chair is Hans J. Wegner at his most expressive, turning solid wood, woven line, and generous proportions into a chair with an almost larger-than-life presence. Designed in 1968, its substantial frame gives Wegner's love of shaping wood plenty of room to show, from the sweeping back to the wonderfully ample armrests. Between them, tensioned flag halyard creates an airy, transparent back that seems to contradict the strength of the structure around it. A softly upholstered seat and suspended neck cushion bring comfort to all that craftsmanship, resulting in a chair that feels at once playful, monumental, and unmistakably Wegner.
