Pioneer Stool

The Pioneer Stool from Fredericia turns a familiar everyday object into something quietly sculptural. Designed by Maria Bruun, four solid wood legs rise into a precisely joined cross beneath the seat, where subtle indentations reveal the care given to a form that appears simple at first glance. Above, a softly rounded upholstered cushion seems almost to float against the more architectural frame, creating a tactile contrast between textile or leather and wood. Lightweight and stackable, this stool brings together the practicality of Scandinavian furniture making with a shape expressive enough to stand beautifully on its own.
