Grand Prix™ Upholstered Dining Chair
Fritz Hansen
by Fritz Hansen
The Grand Prix™ Chair is one of Arne Jacobsen’s most celebrated designs; a true icon of Danish modernism. First unveiled in 1957 at the Designers’ Spring Exhibition in Copenhagen, it went on to win the prestigious Grand Prix at the Milan Triennale later that year, cementing its place in design history. With its sculptural silhouette and graphic edge, the chair embodies Jacobsen’s mastery of form and function. The steel-legged version reflects his wider collection of stackable plywood chairs, offering both lightness and practicality without compromising on elegance.
