Inspired by the confident expression of the Chinese Chair, designer Hans J. Wegner pushed the design further to create the Chinese Bench. The only example of Wegner's progression of shape and design from wooden armchair to bench, this piece both unique and extraordinary. This prototype was finally put into production in 1991, when PP Møbler discovered the technique of pre-compression wood bending.
