The Boa Sofa from Edra is less a piece of furniture than a place to disappear into. Designed by Fernando and Humberto Campana, its immense woven form recalls a nest, inviting you to sit, stretch out, curl up, or find your own position within its folds. There is no conventional frame beneath it. Instead, approximately 394 feet of padded tubular material is knotted entirely by hand into an irregular, enveloping composition. Four highly specialized craftspeople spend roughly two working days creating the final weave alone, with each sofa requiring more than a week to complete. A luminous velvet developed especially for this sofa follows every loop and curve, emphasizing the extraordinary depth of a design shaped as much by hand as by material.
