LEE has a long track record of adopting earth-friendly manufacturing practices early: reducing waste, choosing safer processes, and updating materials as better options become available. In 2006, LEE introduced naturalLEE, which includes soy-based cushions, recycled fibers, organic fabric options, and springs made with a high percentage of recycled metal. Over time, the benefits and components of naturalLEE were made standard across LEE products.

Wood is sourced with responsible forestry practices as a baseline standard, and vendors are expected to follow a Code of Conduct aligned with LEE's values. LEE also holds Gold Exemplary status with the Sustainable Furnishings Council and partners with organizations such as American Forests.
