Inspired by traditional Spanish furniture-making techniques and refined through Mogensen's distinctly Scandinavian perspective, the chair combines honest materials, exceptional craftsmanship, and enduring functionality. Mogensen frequently looked beyond Denmark for inspiration, drawing from historic furniture traditions while stripping away anything unnecessary. This chair emerged from his admiration for Spanish chairs that used thick leather stretched across solid wood frames. Reimagined through the lens of Danish modernism, this chair pairs sturdy solid wood construction with vegetable-tanned saddle leather, creating a design that is both visually striking and remarkably comfortable.
