Designed by Maria Bruun, the Pioneer Barstool transforms a sculptural concept into an elegant and highly functional seating solution. Defined by its harmonious balance of soft curves and solid wood craftsmanship, the design combines exceptional comfort with a distinctive architectural presence. The upholstered seat appears to float atop the wooden frame, creating a light and playful expression that feels both contemporary and timeless. The Pioneer Collection emerged from Bruun's exploration of meaningful materials and sculptural forms, originally conceived as part of her Nordic Pioneer project exhibited at the Design Museum in London. Developed in collaboration with Fredericia, the collection evolved into a family of stools that retain the artistic integrity of the original concept while introducing everyday functionality. The result is a design that feels equally at home in residential interiors, hospitality spaces, restaurants, and bars.
