Louis Poulsen's PH 3½-2½ Floor Lamp, crafted by the iconic Poul Henningsen, is a stunning testament to a legacy of brilliance and innovation. Designed in the golden era of 1925-1926, this lamp is part of a renowned three-shade system that’s been illuminating interiors with sophisticated charm for nearly a century. Imagine stepping into a Parisian exhibition in the 1920s where Henningsen’s collaboration with Louis Poulsen first brought this vision to life. Their partnership, which lasted until Henningsen's passing in 1967, was marked by a relentless quest for glare-free, perfectly directed light. This floor lamp epitomizes that pursuit, offering a seamless blend of functionality and elegance. Henningsen’s use of the logarithmic spiral—a design grounded in science—ensures that light distribution is even and glare is kept at bay. This ingenious approach resulted in a lighting experience that’s both functional and enchanting. The three-shade system, initially made of metal with painted undersurfaces in shades like white, gold, or silver, later evolved to incorporate glass, enhancing both light diffusion and aesthetic appeal.
