Model 548 Table Lamp

The Model 548 Table Lamp demonstrates Gino Sarfatti's fascination with balance, reflection, and the expressive potential of light. Originally designed in 1951 and reissued by Astep, the lamp transforms a simple arrangement of geometric forms into a captivating lighting composition. An adjustable spotlight directs light upward onto a large circular methacrylate diffuser, creating a soft blend of reflected and diffused illumination. Suspended on a slender brass stem and counterbalanced by a small brass weight, every element appears to float effortlessly in equilibrium. Available with orange, blue, or white diffusers, this lamp is as much a sculptural centerpiece as it is a source of beautifully ambient light.
