The Architect's Desk marks an important point in Hans J. Wegner's exploration of solid wood and steel. Designed in 1953 as a companion to the Round Chair, this desk brings a broad solid wood top together with polished stainless steel stays and brackets, creating a deliberate contrast between sculptural warmth and precise structure. The tabletop is crafted from wood sourced from a single log, emphasizing the continuity and natural character of the grain across its generous surface. Two lockable drawers are integrated beneath the top, adding practical storage while preserving the desk's restrained profile.
