ASPLUND

Swedish design with a quiet confidence that lasts.

ASPLUND is widely recognized for furniture, storage, and rugs defined by clean lines, balanced proportions, and a sense of permanence that resists trend. The collection reflects a distinctly Swedish approach to living with design, where practicality and elegance are never at odds.

Pieces are made to feel natural in a room, as though they have always belonged there. That sense of ease is matched by a strong commitment to durability, thoughtful materials, and workmanship intended to age beautifully over time.

Design language

Natural materials, restrained forms, and details that quietly matter.

A defining quality of ASPLUND is the way materials are used to bring warmth into minimal forms. Stone, wood, glass, metal, lacquer, and hand-finished surfaces are often combined with precision, allowing contrast to feel calm rather than decorative.

That balance extends to the brand’s rugs as well, where traditional techniques are reinterpreted through contemporary pattern and proportion. Across the collection, there is a clear emphasis on tactile quality and pieces that remain visually relevant over time.

Foundations

A gallery beginning that changed the way furniture was seen.

ASPLUND began with the idea that furniture could be presented as objects of art. Founded by brothers Michael and Thomas Asplund, the original Stockholm gallery quickly became known for its light-filled, highly curated atmosphere and for its role in championing contemporary Swedish design.

That early gallery mindset still informs the brand today. There is a strong sense of editing, proportion, and material contrast across the collection, with storage, tables, rugs, and interiors all approached through the same careful visual lens.

Founded as a gallery

Furniture was introduced as something to be viewed with the same attention as art.

Sustainability and making

Longevity is treated as part of the design, not an afterthought.

Much of ASPLUND’s furniture is made to order in Sweden, with sustainability considered through durability, maintenance, materials, production methods, and long-term use.

Made in Sweden, wherever possible

ASPLUND continues to keep much of its furniture production within Sweden, working with small and medium-sized factories where craftsmanship, ethical production, and environmental oversight remain close to the source. That local commitment supports both quality control and the long-term repairability of the collection.

Materials chosen to endure

From FSC-marked wood and long-used Osmo oil wax finishes to handmade carpets in wool and Tencel, the material palette reflects a preference for surfaces that wear well and age gracefully. The aim is not only lower impact, but pieces that remain worth caring for over many years of use.
