Eikund

Norwegian design history, carefully brought back to life.

Eikund is dedicated to reviving Norwegian mid-century design classics that had largely disappeared from contemporary view. The collection brings renewed attention to a remarkable period in Norway’s design history, reintroducing works that once risked being forgotten outside vintage shops and private homes.

What makes Eikund compelling is not only the furniture itself, but the depth of research behind it. Original drawings, family archives, and the stories surrounding each piece all play a role in shaping a collection that feels both historically grounded and entirely relevant in the present.

In this Collection

  • Revived Norwegian mid-century masterpieces

  • A strong emphasis on craftsmanship and originality

  • Contemporary reissues grounded in archival research

  • Natural materials chosen to age beautifully over time

Craftsmanship and longevity

Made to age with grace, not chase trends.

Eikund places special emphasis on the life a piece will have after it enters a home. Furniture is designed to hold up to everyday use, develop character over time, and become more beautiful through contact, patina, and care.

That outlook is supported by natural materials, thoughtful refinements in production, and a consistent respect for craftsmanship. The result is furniture that feels grounded, tactile, and enduring rather than temporary or trend-driven.

What that means in practice

Natural materials

Wood, leather, and textiles selected for traceability, longevity, and tactile warmth.

Craft-led updates

Original designs are carefully refined using improved materials and production methods.

Patina over time

Aging is treated as part of the beauty of the object, not a flaw to be hidden.

Durability first

Furniture intended to remain relevant in both quality and expression for many years.

Design legacy

A brand built on research, rediscovery, and the quiet power of legacy.

Before launching in 2016, Eikund spent years tracing relatives, searching attics, and studying original drawings to piece together the stories behind lost Norwegian classics. That process became the foundation of the brand and still shapes how each design is introduced today.

Rather than simply reproducing old furniture, Eikund approaches each reissue as a careful balance between historical fidelity and contemporary production. The goal is to preserve what made the original exceptional while allowing the piece to live fully in the present.

Founded in 2016

The Eikund way

Responsibility is built into materials, production, and the full life of the product.

Eikund frames sustainability through long-lasting design, responsible sourcing, reduced emissions, safer materials, and strong social standards across its value chain.

Responsible sourcing and safer production

Eikund works with traceable wood, certified upholstery suppliers, reduced-toxicity finishes, and close supplier dialogue to improve materials and processes over time. Production takes place in Norway and Northern Europe, with strict expectations around environmental management and working conditions.

Packaging, transport, and waste

Recyclable corrugated packaging, rail and ship freight where possible, and the reuse of sawdust, leather offcuts, and wood byproducts all form part of the larger environmental picture. The emphasis is not on a single gesture, but on continuous improvement across each stage of production and delivery.
