The Next Generation of Originals

At an early age, I found myself in awe of how design could transform a room. Growing up in Amsterdam with parents in the fashion industry, I was fortunate to be surrounded by those making, doing, and living creatively. Personal life and beyond, it was impossible to escape the gravity of good design. 

After studying and working in textiles in Europe and later landing in the US, I decided to leave the constraints of corporate life in 2003 and pursue my passion of creating a lifestyle concept; an independent furniture store and design community based on principles of the three cities that shaped my lens: the warm modern aesthetic of Amsterdam, the classic luxuries of Paris, and the ingenuity of New York. Lekker, which is my native Dutch for pleasing, enjoyable and tasty, was born. 

From the very beginning, originality has been at the heart of Lekker Home. We knew we wanted to focus on modern designs that bring together form, function, and quality, and we knew the only way to do this was to source authentic pieces from European designers. For the past 21 years, we’ve done just that — it’s what we’ve built our reputation on.

As a retailer, we are honored to share the values of our brands and the clients we serve. Especially our A&D clients, who, no matter the size of their projects, want quality, longevity & sustainability to be in their commercial & hospitality spaces as well as residential. These qualities are inherent in our authentic brands with the same commitment to these ideals.

We continue to work to educate our broader community about the importance of original design: how it honors the designers and the craftspeople, promotes sustainability, supports ethical labor practices, and ensures you’re getting the highest quality piece.
