Oksen™ Lounge Chair
Fritz Hansen
by Fritz Hansen
Designed in 1952 as Poul Kjærholm’s final graduation project, the PK25™ Lounge Chair from Fritz Hansen reads like a bold manifesto. Often called the Element Chair, this iconic piece captures Kjærholm’s early ambition to turn industrial materials into sculptural works of modern design. The form is reduced to its essentials. A single continuous steel frame bends fluidly through the entire structure, creating a sense of movement and tension without interruption. The result feels both raw and refined, technical yet poetic. Every curve has purpose. Every detail reflects Kjærholm’s belief that steel deserves the same artistic respect as wood.
