Starting with a hand pleated lamp shade at the beginning of the 20th century, Le Klint has grown into a respected source for modern and timeless lighting designs.
At the beginning of the 20th century, Le Klint started with the creation of a hand pleated lamp shade folded to fit a lamp designed by P.V. Jensen Klint. Now, this signature pleated design has become the core for many of Le Klint’s unique lighting pieces. A technique mastered in Le Klint’s studio in Odense, Denmark, it takes approximately three years to learn this intricate handcrafted skill.
Throughout the years, Le Klint has earned a reputation for its unique craftsmanship and has been awarded several honors including “Purveyors to the Royal Danish Court” in 2003. Le Klint has provided many lighting designs to notable projects such as the Royal Danish Court, the Royal yacht ‘Dannebrog’, the Royal railway carriage, and the Royal reception rooms at Copenhagen Airport.
