About Us
Our Story
Even at an early age, Natalie van Dijk found herself in awe of how design could transform a room. Growing up in Amsterdam with parents in the fashion industry, she was fortunate enough to be surrounded by those making, doing, and living creatively. Personal life and beyond, she couldn't escape the gravity of good design.
After studying and working in textiles in Europe and later landing in the US, Natalie decided to leave the constraints of corporate life and pursue her passion of creating a lifestyle concept; an independent furniture store and design community based on principles of the three cities that shaped her lens: the warm modern aesthetic of Amsterdam, the classic luxuries of Paris, and the ingenuity of New York.
Lekker, which is her native Dutch for pleasing, enjoyable and tasty, was born.
Now twenty years later, Lekker Home is as tied to her as ever, growing from an idea to an innovator in the world of furniture and decor with a team of sixteen beside her, believing in the power that design makes life better. Translating the experience from our intimately-curated showroom in Boston’s South End, we specialize in brands that we believe in aesthetically and ethically, from mid-century modern classics and European design icons to independent artisans in the U.S. changing the game.
What we believe in
We are warm modern. We are handcrafted tenon joinery. We are natural fibers and detailed cross-stitching. We help build spaces that are reflections of the people who live there. No two people are the same – your interiors shouldn't be either.
We are constantly working to push the boundaries of education and transparency in who we choose to represent, the quality of what we carry, and how we work beyond the confines of a showroom to improve our community.
