Arkipelago KVTT3 Outdoor Lounge Chair

Designed by Kari Virtanen in 2014, the Arkipelago KVTT3 Outdoor Lounge Chair from Nikari brings the structural philosophy of the Arkipelago Collection to low, relaxed seating. Crafted from solid oak following the traditions of Nordic woodworking, it is held together in part by wooden nails. This is a construction detail that is as functional as it is authentic, reinforcing and supporting the joints across changing conditions. The generous proportions and low seat height make this a chair designed for genuine repose. Finished in an outdoor wood oil and built using joinery developed to let the wood breathe without compromising the structure, this chair is equally suited to a sauna terrace, a covered outdoor living space, or a spa lounge. The oak will silver gradually with UV exposure over time; an expected and welcome development that only deepens the character of the piece.
