Biblioteket Rug

Starting at $5,170.00

by Asplund

The Biblioteket Rug from Asplund is a true work of art that brings the essence of Sweden’s National Museum into your home. Designed by the award-winning Emma Olbers, this hand-knotted rug was inspired by her first sketches for the Old Library in Stockholm’s newly renovated museum. The design captures the library’s iconic arches, its rows of books, and the warmth of the newly laid oak parquet – all brought to life through finely crafted Tibetan knots. Made from a blend of wool and Tencel, this rug strikes a perfect balance between luxury and sustainability. The wool comes from New Zealand and India, while the Tencel is derived from fast-growing wood, processed in an environmentally certified closed system. With a commitment to both craftsmanship and the planet, Emma Olbers designed this rug with a sustainable elegance that won her the 2019 Interior Design of the Year Award.
