Community Spotlight: Habitat for Humanity

It’s that time of year: Thanksgiving and the holiday season are around the corner, and it has us thinking a lot about giving. Not only giving to our friends and family (although that too!), but also giving back to our community. We kicked off our season of giving back by partnering with an organization that is near and dear to us: Habitat for Humanity.
Fall and Winter are all about cozying up with loved ones, gathering around the table, and settling in for the colder months ahead. Having a warm comfortable place to call home is especially important at this time of year, which is why we’re so excited to support Habitat in their mission to build homes, community, and hope for those in need.
On October 21, Habitat for Humanity Metrowest/Greater Worcester hosted their annual High Heels & Hard Hats live auction and gala. More than 200 donors gathered at Cyprian Keyes Golf Club in Boylston, MA for hors d’oeuvres, entertainment, and, of course, the auction.
When Habitat approached us earlier this fall about the auction, we jumped at the chance to be a part of it. We donated a Blu Dot Dandy Lounge Chair with a coordinating pillow from Bolé Road – we’re so happy to know that the funds raised from these items will support such an important cause. Plus, the chair and pillow will make a beautiful addition to someone’s home!
We have a longstanding relationship with Habitat for Humanity – we’ve donated close to 60 pieces of furniture over the years! These pieces have been used in homes built by Habitat for Humanity, as well as in ReStores. The money made from ReStore sales is donated straight back to Habitat for Humanity to help build and renovate homes in the community.
Community service is a big priority for all of us at Lekker Home. In fact, it’s part of our core values!
