Position Overview
Are you someone with a passion for interior design and providing exceptional customer service? As a Design Sales Associate at Lekker Home, you will have the opportunity to work with some of the best modern design furniture and decor brands, while helping clients create a space they love.
Your primary responsibility will be to assist customers in finding the perfect furniture and decor that aligns with their style and needs. With your exceptional product knowledge and professional approach, you will guide our customers through the buying process, fostering relationships and ensuring an exceptional shopping experience.
Key Responsibilities
•Greet and welcome customers as they enter the showroom, creating a warm and friendly atmosphere.
•Converse with customers to understand their needs, preferences, and design styles.
•Offer expert advice and product knowledge to customers, assisting them in finding furniture and home decor solutions that suit their taste and space requirements.
•Showcase the features and benefits of our products.
•Effectively communicate pricing, delivery information, and warranty details to customers, addressing any inquiries or concerns.
•Provide accurate and timely quotations, including delivery fees and additional services such as assembly or customizations.
•Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently, including handling cash, credit cards, and other forms of payment.
•Maintain an up-to-date register of customer orders, ensuring proper documentation and coordinating with the logistics team for order fulfillment.
•Proactively follow up with customers through phone calls, emails, or personalized notes to nurture relationships and promote repeat business.
•Keep the showroom clean, organized, and visually appealing, ensuring products are accurately labeled and displayed.
•Stay updated on industry trends, emerging designs, and new product launches, consistently expanding your product knowledge.
•Collaborate with the showroom team to achieve sales targets and contribute to the overall success of the company.
•Assist with inventory management, including restocking shelves, conducting inventory counts, and reporting discrepancies to the store manager.
Qualifications & Skills
•Strong communication (verbal and written), organization, and interpersonal skills.
•Ability to work independently, prioritize work, and handle multiple tasks.
•Strong Apple/Mac operating systems skills.
•Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets.
•Must pass all security and background checks.
•Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
•Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
•2+ years of professional work experience, preferably in interior design, customer service, furniture sales or luxury environment.

Not required but we’d love to hear about it if you possess the following:
•Degree in interior design or related field
•Previous experience working in an interior design, architectural firm, design showroom
•Experience with selling custom furniture, luxury goods, or made to order items.
•Familiarity with Interior Design Software; Adobe Creative Suite (e.g. Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.), SketchUp Pro, CAD, Revit, etc.
•We have a soft spot for Dutch but any additional languages to English are always of interest.
