One of Artek's most recognizable designs, the Tea Trolley 901 by Alvar Aalto is a staple of Nordic design. Originally introduced at the 1937 Paris World's Fair, this trolley is in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art. Beyond good design, this piece is highly functional, making a useful addition to a dining or living room. Available at a shorter lead time is the original configuration by Aalto, as well as a modern, all-black reinterpretation by iconic designer Hella Jongerius.

This item is stocked in Finland with a lead time of 6-8 weeks. Have a deadline? View Artek's Quick Ship Program to choose from designs that ship in just 2-3 weeks.

Classic Tea Trolley has a lacquered birch frame, shelves in IKI White HPL (high pressure laminate), and white wheels with a black rubber ring. Hella Jongerius Re-Interpretation has black lacquered birch frame, peat linoleum top tray, charcoal linoleum bottom tray, and peat lacquer wheels with black rubber ring. Artek was founded in Helsinki in 1935 by four young idealists: Alvar and Aino Aalto, Maire Gullichsen, and Nils-Gustav Hahl. Their goal was “to sell furniture and to promote a modern culture of living by exhibitions and other educational means.” In keeping with the radical spirit of its founders, Artek today remains an innovative player in the world of modern design, developing new products at the intersection of design, architecture, and art.

Artek combines modern production methods with expert craftsmanship, keeping within the original vision of Alvar Aalto. Regional sourcing, sustainability, and safety are pursued without compromise, both by Artek and its partners, ensuring ethical manufacture and design of the highest quality.
