Coral & Tusk Page Logo

Coral & Tusk celebrates the theme of adornment as expressed through the craft, creativity and incredible resourcefulness of native cultures everywhere. Founded in 2007 by Stephanie Housley with her husband Chris Lacinak, Coral & Tusk add its signature storytelling spirit to every room of the home with embroidered pillows, artwork, table linens and accessories. First enchanted by the natural world during childhood trips to the Eastern seaboard, Housley's frequent travels now span the globe. Narratives spun from magical experiences, naive art, lesser-known histories, and natural artifacts form the backbone of every collection.

Coral & Tusk’s creative process is a special alchemy of illustration, machine embroidery and hand-finishing. A RISD-trained textile designer, Housley first creates her characters and bold pattern designs as original pencil drawings before she redraws them stitch by stitch using specialized software. Designs are machine-embroidered at cut-and-sew workshops that Housley set up in India and are then finished by hand in her Brooklyn studio. Every Coral & Tusk product retains the hand-drawn allure of the original illustration, now with the satisfying tactile quality of stitches on cloth.
