Ercol Page Logo

In 1920, young designer Lucian Ercolani started his own business in High Wycombe, the chair making capital of England. Here he perfected the technique of steam-bending wood  to form the famous Windsor Bow and discovered how to "tame" elm; a beautifully grained hardwood other furniture makers considered impossible to work with.

Design and people were the cornerstones of his company and this remains true of the family-owned company today, which is currently headed by Lucian's grandsone, Edward Tadros.

Ercol's passion for innovation in design and manufacturing is as strong today as it was then. Its 160,000-square-foot factory combines the latest technology with time-honored craftsmanship to create a unique range of pieces designed by Ercol's in-house team alongside design luminaries including Matthew Hilton, Sir Terence Conran and Russel Pinch.
