PK22™ Lounge Chair
The discreet and elegant lounge chair PK22™ Lounge Chair epitomizes the work of Poul Kjærholm. The profile of the steel frame structure originates from his graduation project, the "Element" Chair (PK25), from the School of Applied Arts in Copenhagen. When designing the structure of the PK22™, Kjærholm divided it into separate elements due to design improvements and for economical production. The PK22™ was an immediate commercial and critical success. In 1957, the chair was awarded the Grand Prix at the Milan Triennale, the world's premier design fair.
Seat Height: 13.8"
PK22™ is available in wicker, canvas, or fully upholstered in a limited range of leathers or suede. The base is made of satin brushed stainless steel.
- Aura Leather: chrome-tanned, top-coated, strong full-grain and durable surface
- Grace Leather: vegetable and chrome tanned, aniline, full-grain with light structure and light impregnation, becomes lighter and patinated with use, contains visible natural markings
- Wicker: Wicker is a completely natural and very durable material that develops a beautiful patina over the years. It is derived from the cores of rattan stalks (a member of the palm family) and is very homogenous in its quality and appearance. All the wicker seats and backrests on Poul Kjærholm furniture are hand- woven. If a wicker seat or rest wears out or is damaged, it can be easily repaired and restored to its original state.
