Schultz’s groundbreaking designs of the 1960s set the benchmark for outdoor furniture design and innovation in the modern world. From his award-winning whimsical Petal Table (1960), to the 715 Chaise Lounge (1961) in MoMA’s permanent collection, to the Schultz Leisure Collection (1966)—now known as the 1966 Collection—Richard Schultz transformed the summer homes of America’s elite design aficionados and cemented his reputation as an outdoor furniture specialist.
