Details
One of the fathers of American modernism, George Nelson was an architect and designer whose works became the 20th century's most iconic modernist furniture. Nelson believed that to work in a creative capacity one must consciously and critically observe everyday environments. Over the course of forty years he created furniture, lamps, clocks, films, and architectural models that reflected aesthetic as well as social change. Together with Charles & Ray Eames, he shaped the course of design in America.
