Having mentors like Arne Jacobsen and Poul Henningsen guide his path, even participating in the design of one of Arne Jacobsen's most famous pieces, the Ant Chair, it soon became evident that he was a genius in his own right. 

Panton designed countless daring pieces of furniture and lighting fixtures during his long career, known for bright colors, playful geometric forms, and creating unified gesamtkunstwerk. Perhaps his most famous contribution was designing the first single-form injection-molded plastic chair, the Panton Chair, still produced by Vitra to this day.
