Drawing inspiration from his blacksmith grandfather, Timo Sarpaneva created a timeless and ingenious design that is as functional in the kitchen as it is appealing on the dining room table. With a wooden handle and a cast-iron body, Sarpaneva's casserole pot expresses an aesthetic so classic it was once celebrated on a Finnish postage stamp.

This cast-iron pot is coated with enamel so that food cooks evenly in the oven or on the stove. The enameled surface prevents food from sticking to the pot and the detachable wooden handle can be used to lift the pot or the lid. Use wooden or plastic kitchen utensils to avoid damaging the enamel. Hand wash only.

Made in Finland.

Measures: 8.75" W x 8.5" D x 6.75" H, 3 qt.

Iittala Page Logo

What started as a glass factory in Iittala, Finland, today celebrates generations of essential objects that are made to enrich people’s everyday lives. In the beginning of the 20th century dinnerware was decorated with a variety of ornaments. Iittala was one of the first companies to make the transition from decorative dinner sets to functional, aesthetically pleasing objects infused with progressive Scandinavian design.

As a company based in Finland, where quality, aesthetics and functionality are important values, Iittala believes objects should be distinctive, combinable and multi-functional, with lasting design that inspires individual use and expression. The progressive philosophies of its design heroes, Kaj Franck and Alvar Aalto, still inspire the company to keep Iittala forever relevant.

Iittala doesn't just create beautiful objects. Iittala believes in timeless design that will never be thrown away.

Lekker Home is proud to be Boston's address for Iittala products. We have access to the entire Iittala portfolio. So if you don't see what you're looking for or need assistance please contact us at support@lekkerhome.com or 877.7LEKKER (877.753.5537). We're here to help!
